There's a secret not known to many marketers who are still winging it.
It's a formula that embraces the bottom line in conversions. Everyone has
their own style of marketing, but most are scared to take the next step in
finding their own formula for profits. Most affiliates have enough offers
that perform, but your list may not like what you are sending to at that
time. If you want to finally tackle this issue, then follow these simple
guidelines.
Sign up everywhere. Get on board with every single affiliate you can find.
There are so many out there now, it's not that hard to find at least 10.
Once you sign up, start tracking who has what and at what price. Learn the
ins and outs of every ad and make sure you can track who has what. Put a
system in place to track all offers.
Hire a tester. A tester is someone who has all of the affiliates login info
and knows what offers are and at what price. Their job is to pull offers,
load them up and send a small test to each. They do this all day long. Test
test test.... This person has to be able to be separate from the person who
is tracking all reports. The reason they need to be separate is stress. The
tester does not need to know anything about performance. All they do is keep
affiliate relations and test offers. The faceman!
Hire a reporter. The reporter saves the tester the stress of watching
converting offers and reporting the bottom line to the boss. The reporter is
responsible for managing campaigns that have tested well and place them into
the final schedule / the queue. It's good to have an automated system in
place for this. You can always hire an India programmer through a freelance
website for dirt cheap who can program all the necessities you are looking
for in tracking and reporting. Some affiliates already have this kind of
tracking but most don't ask for it or use it.
Rotate the top offers. Every day, you should have the top converting offers
tested and reported on from the day before. Set those up and start rotating
them throughout your databases. Split them up (lists) as small as you can
and space them out as long as you can.
Collect your opens and clicks. Opens and clicks should be your friend. Send
each high converting offer to them daily once. Keep collecting opens and
clicks and make sure you're scrubbing them every day! Opens and clicks are
where most traps are located.
Rotate ESP's & IPs. The more email service providers and ip blocks you can
get the better. Space them out and rotate them for every offer. Sticking
with the same IPs and same software system to mail will get you targeted
fast.
Listen to NO ONE. No one shares their secrets nor will they tell you what is
converting or not. Try and stay in your own little world and listen to your
lists. Regardless of what people tell you, they are always wrong. Keep that
philosophy when people talk to you. Affiliates especially. Once they figure
out the secret to your campaigns (your formula) they will scratch and bite
you until they get the answers. This industry is full of vampires. Keep your
enemies close.
Rinse lather and repeat.
